The Pollution Authority of India is a regulatory body mandated to control vehicular and industrial pollution across the nation. We enforce emission standards, manage the PUCβVAHAN integration, and ensure every citizen breathes safe air.
Mandatory Emission Compliance Drive: "No PUC, No Fuel" β Kamrup District & Nationwide
Scope & Objective: To curb vehicular emissions across Guwahati and the wider Kamrup district by strictly enforcing Pollution Under Control (PUC) compliance. Fuel retail outlets are legally restricted from dispensing petrol or diesel to vehicles without an active, verified PUC certificate linked to the VAHAN database.
Driving without a valid PUC certificate attracts a fine of up to βΉ10,000 under the Motor Vehicles Act. Repeat offenders may face vehicle impoundment. Fuel stations dispensing fuel to non-compliant vehicles face license suspension.
